EXPERT BIKE REPAIR / CAMPAGNOLO PRO SHOP

Keeping bikes running smoothly and safely is our Number One priority. Regular maintenance is important in keeping your bike safe, efficient, and fun to ride. At our shop, the owner is the mechanic. You’ll find knowledgeable advice, friendly service, precision repairs, and quality components.

Working on bikes is what we love to do.  Our specialties include modern road and gravel bikes, classic steel racing-style bikes, and old cruisers and pre-war bikes. We do not service hydraulic mountain bike components or e-bikes. Nothing gives us more satisfaction than bringing an old bike back to life.

Our repair shop will help you with everything from flat repair, basic maintenance, and tune-ups, to updating components, resurrecting an old bike, custom wheel building, and pro builds. And we are a Campy Pro Shop.

Marc at Truing Stand Hand Made by Marc Vanselow 980

Burlingame Bikes is an officially designated Campagnolo Pro-Shop. We are particularly knowledgeable about new and vintage Campagnolo. We stock a broad range of new and vintage Campy components and repair parts as well as Campagnolo wheels and Campy-made Fulcrum wheels for non-Campy bikes. We can rebuild or overhaul your classic Campy shifters, hubs, bottom brackets, and headsets, or help you find the right match to complete your vintage groupset or upgrade to new modern components. Examples of our work can be seen on many of the vintage bikes we have for sale in our shop and on the bikes we ride.

We offer Marc’s custom, hand-built wheels designed to your specification or ready built.

We service and rebuild Italian Silca pumps.

MECHANICAL RESTORATION, UPGRADES, AND NEW BUILDS

Nothing makes us happier than helping a well-loved bike, or maybe even an abused bike, return to the road. We specialize in getting your bike back up and running as it should. Also, we can help with upgrades if you want increased performance or more modern components.

We work on most road and gravel bikes, modern and vintage, with a few exceptions: We do not service hydraulic mountain bike components or e-bikes.

One can repaint a frame, but we love patina. As part of this program, we bring the finish of your bike up to the best it can be while retaining as much originality as possible.

Here are a few recent examples:

Pinarello Dogma F-8 upgraded with a new Campy Record 12-speed group.

A Raleigh Grand Sports, bringing a completely original bike back to life after 30 years in storage.

After:

A run-of-the-mill Huffy cruiser frame upgraded with all new components including a hand-build wheel set with two-speed kick-back rear hub and drum brake front hub matched to gold rims.

Then, for the sake of originality, we have a couple of bikes for sale that we chose not to touch at all. The Schwinn Varsity Bicentennial Special Edition was bought new in July, 1976, hung in the garage, and never ridden. The 1974 Schwinn Suburban has about three hours of riding time. Both are still completely original, including tires, tubes, brake pads, cables and housing, etc.

We also are happy to put together a bike from scratch for you. We can help with choosing the right frameset and the components that best meet your needs from groupsets and wheels to tires and handlebar tape.

Here is a Casati Aliena handbuilt carbon frameset from Italy with a custom paint scheme designed by our customer. He asked us to built it with Campagnolo Super Record components, Campy Bora Ultra carbon wheels, and Deda bar, stem, and seat post. Molto bella; Molto veloce!
